Former Chippa United head coach Vladislav Heric is backing Gavin Hunt to prove a success at the Gqeberha-based club.

Despite having won just one match in six so far this season, Heric is convinced that Hunt will lead the club to greater heights this season.

"Gavin is one of the most experienced coaches in the DStv Premiership," Heric tells Kickoff.com.

"He knows how to deal with the players, management, everyone at the club and different situations. So he knows how to handle most situations, and that's the most important for the club.

"I can see him becoming a success at the club."

Heric added that while he is backing Hunt to be successful, he admitted that coaches are not afforded enough time in South Africa.

"You know we always rush to judge in the first five games, but then the log table ends up almost upside down each and every season.

"So I think it's too early to judge, and there will probably be a lot of changes during the season regarding log positions.

"I can't say how long Gavin is going to last at Chippa because those kinds of things are unpredictable.

"But I know he is going to make a success of this club. He can go far. I think he will make it."

The Chilli Boys will be aiming for a positive result when they next face fellow DStv Premiership strugglers Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on 16 October.
