snl24.com/kickoff can confirm that performance analyst Musi Matlaba has left Mamelodi Sundowns to join Pitso Mosimane at Al Ahly.
Mosimane took local and international football by surprise when he resigned from Sundowns to take the biggest job on the continent with Al Ahly.
'Jingles' has been unveiled on a two-year contract at the 42-time Egyptian champions, who are going for their ninth CAF Champions League star this year.
Mosimane has been given a chance to bring technical team members with him to Cairo and has opted for 'a general coach, a physical trainer and a performance analyst' according to Ahly's official statement.
snl24.com/kickoff understands this refers to Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena, fitness trainer Kabelo Rangoaga and performance analyst Musi Matlaba.
"Matlaba has left Sundowns to join Pitso Mosimane in Egypt with Al Ahly," an inside source confirms.
It is believed The Brazilians are reluctant to let Mokwena and Rangoaga go easily, with Ahly likely having to pay compensation to buy the two coaches out of their contracts.
Mosimane could make his coaching debut for The Red Devils on Sunday when they face Al Mokawloon.
