Stellenbosch FC defender Rafiq de Goede sends warning to Orlando Pirates

The Buccaneers host Stellies at Orlando Stadium on Saturday (18h00), with the Western Cape side set to make their maiden appearance in the tournament following their promotion last season.

Pirates will be hoping to regain their dented image in the same competition after losing last year's final against Baroka in Port Elizabeth.

The two sides will meet for the first time in an official PSL game, and Goede has handed the pressure over to Pirates to win the game in Soweto.

"We are looking forward to the game on Saturday. We are underdogs. We have no pressure. The pressure is on Pirates," Goede tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"They haven't been doing well recently. They might think it will be easy for them against us but nothing will be easy for them. We will be up for it. We as Stellenbosch want to play on the big stage. This is an opportunity to showcase what we can do."

Steve Barker's side are currently on a high after winning their first Absa Premiership match against Polokwane City before the international break.

"We didn't pick up points in the last seven games and recently we got our first three points, so the mood is much better. We are on the right track," added Goede.

"We are going to the game against Pirates after a win against Polokwane City with a positive mind and good vibe."
