While it was a glorious night at the 2022 CAF Awards for Bayana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, and Sadio Mane, a lot of high fashion was served at the ceremony. Here's a look!

The story

The CAF Awards made a return this year after two years without them due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Africa's biggest stars were all in one room in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday night dressed wholesomely suave.

The occasion could be considered a black-tie event but at the same time it was an African showcase, thus some of the most stunning looks on display were of traditional wear.

Mzansi shines

South Africa will be basking in glory as the women's national team boss Ellis scooped the coach of the year award. She wore a pretty minimalistic outfit which was given a whole lot of flavour by the beautiful neckpiece she wore, which gave colour and a vibe to her look.

Downs Ladies' star Zanele Nhlapho accepted her side's club of the year award looking quite dapper in an evening blazer, plaid pants and a pair of glossy loafers.

Africa's jewel

Mane walked away with the player of the year award, beating Senegal compatriot Edouard Mendy as well as former teammate Mohamed Salah to the big prize. The Bayern Munich forward wore a black three-piece tuxedo with a bowtie.
