Let's take a closer look...

KO Comments

Hugo Broos felt vindicated after Bafana Bafana's win over Liberia to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations next year.

The former Cameroon mentor shared his delight in the post-match press conference following the national team's hard-fought 2-1 win, where he made five changes from last Friday's disappointing 2-2 draw.

Two of his five changes, Zakhele Lepasa and Mihlali Mayambela contributed to the scoresheet against Liberia, with Lepasa grabbing an early opener after replacing Lyle Foster in the side.

Broos told reporters that he had 100 feelings going through his body after the tough match, and was also jubilantly flung up in the air in celebration with the team.

Here's how the readers responded to the "'I feel enormous happiness' - vindicated Broos delighted as Bafana clinch AFCON qualification" story:

"Thank you for benching the overrated Zwane," says user853624.

"Congratulations Bafana. But it is concerning the low quality that the team has. There is no hope that we will do better at AFCON but at least we are there for a change.

"Well done to the team. We should have got 6 points from Liberia though," says Khothakhosi.

"I agree with u 200%. We must also beat Morocco here at home, we must install fear to opponents when coming to our home ground," says Truthngezana1, who responded to Khothakhosi.

"But we never got 6 points from Liberia even in 2000. We drew and beat them like we have done now. It's just that the draw in 2000 was away and the win at home.

"When playing in an artificial turf, you can never play good football. Chiefs, that plays helicopter football, would have won 4-0 here. That's how you play in an artificial turf," says Sva2022.

Orlando Pirates are believed to have joined the race to secure signature of Stellenbosch FC's Junior Mendieta.

The Argentine attacker has enjoyed a good season in Steve Barker's side that's also sparked interest from Kaizer Chiefs.

Mendieta is said to be in the final year of his contract at Stellies, with a Kick Off source revealing that Orlando Pirates are prepared to send a player or two to the Western Cape-based side as part of the deal.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Pirates join race for Argentinean star" story:

"It's bad news, Chiefs will run away now cause they don't want to pay," says ngwanamoshate.70.

"That will be a great signing," says morewasn.

"Give them Eva Nga, Makgaka, Motshwari and Dzvukamanja as a bonus," says klenkwe82.

"Send Dlamini, Makgaka and Hotto," says Honorable Sika Mareiza.
