Orlando Pirates players set to get a feel of what it's like to be a Formula One driver

Orlando Pirates players will take a break from the pitch on May 16 for quite a different experience of showcasing their skills behind the wheel.

The Vodacom #RedTrackDay event, to be held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, will see some of the Pirates players getting behind the wheel for a Ferrari 360 challenge and basically get a clear idea of how Formula 1 drivers feel when they burn rubber on race day.

Vodacom Red customers will also get to be part of the event and become part of racing royalty, while also rubbing shoulders with the players of the Buccaneers and celebrities who will be in attendance. Vodacom Red customers are people who have contracts with the mobile network and spend in access of R1000 a month. Pirates players will be joined by rugby players from the Vodacom Bulls, Emirates Lions, DHL Stormers and Cell C Sharks.

#RedTrackDay activies include a hot lap with a professional race track driver, a self-drive lap, drifting, F1 simulator, a photo opportunity with former South African motor race driver Jody Scheckter and a pit stop challenge, which will see participants doing a tyre change.

Now the big question is: Who will be the king or queen of the #RedTrackDay? Only time will tell.
