Dumisani Ngwenya and Siyabonga Mkhwanazi, Usuthu’s top scorers in the league, found the back of the net twice and three times, respectively, against the youthful Northern Cape outfit and Barker believes that this feat will put them in a good frame of mind when they visit the resurgent Chiefs later this week.
“The fact that they managed to score so many goals should give them confidence. You know you have got to be mentally prepared for tough encounters like the Chiefs match and I’m glad that they managed to put away the chances that came their way today,” said Barker.
Reflecting on the one sided clash, Barkers added: “I think our visitors fought hard, but were let down by inexperience. It was good that they made it to this stage of the competition and hopefully they learned something that will help them grow in strength.”
