The Urban Warriors have held pole position on goal difference over BidVest Wits and will look to return to winning ways in midweek after a stutter in their form during December 2007.

Craig Rosslee’s team failed to win any of their five matches in the run-in to the mid-season break, a dramatic slump in form after their superb run of seven wins in nine games from late August to late November.

Celtic also struggled in the latter stages of 2007, winning just one of their last six matches, but they will take heart from an opening day defeat of Ajax on August 15 as they look to recreate their early season form that saw them installed as possible title winners.

And, such is the nature of the Absa Premiership’s congested log table, Celtic are certainly not out of championship reckoning despite being five places behind the leaders.
