Akan returns to FC AK


Sources at FC AK have revealed to that the Turkish mentor will be back in charge in the new season after resolving his grievances with the club.

“I can confirm that Ali Akan will be the coach of the team in the new season. He is basically continuing from where he left off temporarily,” says a well-informed source.

Apparently, influential figures at FC AK convinced Akan to come back to the club as they valued his input at the club in his first year in charge.

The former Namibian national team coach had cited management interference in his job as the reason for choosing to surprisingly resign just a day before the crucial promotional match.

Zukile Nomvete, who had been appointed the new chairman of the club after club boss Aziz Kara was banned, was singled out by Akan for meddling in technical affairs.

With matters resolved the 48-year-old Akan will no longer be heading to fellow First Division side Dynamos, who were seeking his services. gathered that Akan had three offers from other First Division clubs just days after making his resignation public.

Liberian assistant coach Thomas Kojo temporarily took charge for the two legs of the final which AK lost against Bay United after Akan quit.
