Amajimbos preparations 'going well'

According to the Under-17 assistant coach Solly Luvhengo, the tournament will feature South Africa, a German Invitation side, Zimbabwe and hosts, Namibia.

Luvhengo tells that the South Africans’ preparations of the tournament are well underway with a training camp that was held in Johannesburg at the weekend.

“We completed our camp on Sunday morning with a resounding 4-2 win over a youth academy team in Johannesburg. The camp was part of my plans to widen the pool of players to choose ahead of the Youth Championships qualifiers that start in May.

“Last month we were in Lesotho, and so far everything is going well as we have managed to identify a number of quality players.

“We will continue with this exercise until we come up with a very good and strong youth squad as it is our aim to qualify for the finals that will be held in Algeria this year,” says Luvhengo.
