Angelo Tsichlas is gunning for promotion at NFD side Royal Eagles

As reported by two weeks ago, Tsichlas has taken up a post as chief technical advisor – a similar position that he held at Mamelodi Sundowns for a year before leaving The Brazilians last August.

“I have the technical team under my belt,” he tells

“I put on my tracksuit every morning and head out to work and only take it off in the evenings when I get back. This is what I have always liked after all because the experience that I have in this game remains in good use and will be of benefit here.

“The plus that we have is that we have excellent infrastructure here along with good players, good officials and good owners. With the kind of facilities here this is a club that should be already in the Premier League. We want to work hard and make it happen this season even though we know that everyone else is also trying to achieve the same goals.

“My plan is to be here until the team wins promotion to the Premier League after which we will then see what happens going forward,” says Tsichlas.

Tsichlas has previously been a coach and then co-owner at Sundowns along with his wife Natasha and late club president Abe Krok.
