Arrows’ coach Manqoba Mngqithi said they were asked by the management to spend a week at the play-offs “to look at whatever good players we may be able to get.”

Mngqithi, whose side finished ninth on the log last season, said they would also scout for potential signings in the neighbouring countries.

He would not reveal the names of the countries they would be visiting.

“We need to strengthen out team in order to compete well in the next campaign,” said the former school teacher.

Mngqithi also expressed a desire to hold onto striker Norman Smith, whose contract with Abafana Besithende ends in June.

The one-time Bafana Bafana hitman did not take part in the last games of the season owing to injury.

Smith has been linked with moves to a Gauteng club.
