Banyana will face Cameroon in the final, after the West Africans beat Zambia in the other semi-final earlier today.
The hosts, who finished top of Group A after registering three victories in as many matches, beat the Ugandans 2-0, thanks to goals scored by US-based midfielder Linda Motlhalo and striker Jermaine Seoposenwe.
Motlhalo got Banyana’s goal early on in the first half, netting her fourth goal in the tournament after bagging a hat-trick in the 6-0 drubbing of Malawi during the group phase.
Motlhalo, who still has a very bright future in the game of football, set up Seoposenwe for Banyana’s second goal of the match after the hour mark, which all but wrapped up the tie. It was the striker’s second goal of the competition.
Banyana had other opportunities during the game to score, but 2-0 was more than enough to send them through to the final, giving themselves an opportunity to defend the title they won in Zimbabwe last year.
The final will be played at Wolfson Stadium on Sunday (12h00).
