According to reports in Ghana, the Black Stars have raised fears over their scheduled trip to South Africa to face Bafana in their penultimate Group C 2022 AFCON qualifier on 21 March 2021.

The Ghana FA are said to have written a letter to the Confederation of African Football to request that the match be moved away from South Africa, over fears of the more infectious variant Covid-19 strain that was discovered after the recent festive period.

This follows a similar request by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, who have refused Kaizer Chiefs entry into their country for a CAF Champions League Group C fixture against Wydad Athletic Club, which was scheduled for Saturday evening.

"The Ghana Football Association has written to CAF requesting for a change in venue for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications fixture against South Africa," reported ghanasoccernet.com.
