The Catalan club once again shone on the pitch last campaign, bringing home the Spanish La Liga, Copa del Rey, Fifa Club World Cup and Uefa Super Cup trophies, yet following the club’s board meeting on Monday, announced another successful campaign off the pitch as well.
“The Board has approved the closure of the financial results for the 2015/16 season, which showed record revenues of €679million, representing a substantial increase of the figure originally budgeted for this area, with a net profit of €29million after tax,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
The Board was understandably pleased with the figures, which sits in line with their long-term targets for the club.
“The Board has valued highly the final balance of this exercise, not only due to the increase of income but also because it is in the line with the Strategic Plan of the Club of reaching €1,000 million in 2021,” the statement continued.
It was also announced that the sponsorship agreement with Qatar Airways has been renewed for one season, with the airline to continue as the club’s main sponsor.
