Speaking to Kick Off after AmaZulu beat the Tycoons 1-0 at King Zwelithini Stadium, Barker said his team deserved to win the game as they were the better side on the day.

“My boys put up a good performance and the whole team showed great quality. We are improving all the time and I hope the squad continues to maintain this consistency in both the League and the next stages of the Telkom Cup.

“I don’t mind who we are drawn against in the next round, but I am just hoping that we can pick up another home ground advantage.”

The former Bafana Bafana mentor added that veteran midfielder John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu still needed to regain his full fitness before he can be considered for place in the starting line up.

“Shoes missed the pre-season training and some of the League games, so he is still battling with match fitness. Everybody knows Moshoeu is a great player and once he regains his fitness, he will play a vital role in the team.”
