During their stay in Hanover, Basetsana played two matches, a 1-1 draw against the host nation before losing 2-0 to the Netherlands.
In the first game Basetsana scored through Lucinda Bowers who broke through the spine of the hosts’ experienced defence before slotting into an empty net after the Germans had taken the lead just before the break.
According to reports from Europe the match played in cold conditions saw Basetsana hold off a series of attacks by the physical Germans in the opening half.
The experience of defender Gloria Thato was influential in keeping the hosts at bay along with goalkeeper Mandy de Arouia who gave it her best between the posts.
Basetsana will now continue with their preparations at the High Performance Centre in Tshwane ahead of the first qualifying match against Mozambique on the road to finals in Chile.
Fran Hilton-Smith, the Basetsana manager remained behind in Cannes, France, to attend the ninth Uefa youth coaches workshop.
