Black Aces dominated for most of the match, with winger Tornado Mongale shooting wide in the 23rd and 24th minutes.
Striker Emmanuel Emenike proved a thorn in the side of the FC AK defence the entire game and looked a threat whenever in possession.
Vusiwe Masondo should have handed Aces the lead two minutes before the break and the visiting keeper failed to hold onto a cross by Mongale, but the midfielder sent his effort well over the crossbar.
The match remained goalless at the break.
The hosts continued where they left off in the second half, but were unable to penetrate the FC AK defence.
Until the 67th minute that is, when substitute Musasa, who came on for Masondo a minute earlier, capitalised on Charles Yohane’s failure to clear Jacob Mochaka’s long ball, to coolly slot the ball into the far corner.
FC AK pushed more men forward in search of an equaliser, but Aces were solid in defence.
Yohane almost redeemed himself in the 90th minute, but the defender sent his header wide from a corner by Mark McVeigh, and with that went the final chance of the game.
