Phillips, a defender born in Upington and Mtsweni, a right sided midfielder, have both had limited game time at Wits this season and the club has allowed the pair to go just six months before the expiry of their contracts.

Aces CEO Peter Koutroulis confirms the signing of the two players while adding that they are chasing another two players from Orlando Pirates.

“We have signed the players up to the end of the season though there is an option to extend their contacts depending on how they perform.

“We are also targeting two players from Pirates and are already in negotiations with their team.

“After we failed to sign Alfred Phiri we needed to find players to fill the role that we had in mind for him. Now we are seriously searching for a striker.”

Koutroulis adds that Dumisa Ngobe is still an assistant coach at the club, though head coach Kenny Ndlazi has indicated that he would also want to have Sam Pam working with him.
