Belinda Ndlovu, the club’s administrative manager, will take over Khan’s duties with immediate effect.
The highly-anticipated exit of Executive Director Khan could be linked to his handling of the Jose Torrealba saga, in which the Venezuelan’s signature on a document which was served as an extension to the striker’s contract with Sundowns, was ruled to have been forged by the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC),.
Sundowns disputed the decision of the DRC, and subsequently lost the appeal lodged to Safa’s Appeals Board.
The club was ordered to pay all of Torrealba’s legal costs, as well as Safa’s costs and also forfeited the appeal fee of R10 000.
However, Sundowns also announced that they will file for arbitration regarding the Torrealba issue, but Motsepe revealed that they will also issue Torrealba with his clearance certificate so that he join a new club, while the arbitration case is in process.
