African Champions League: Egyptian giants expelled by The Confederation of African Football

Caf has acted swiftly after crowd trouble ended Ismaily's home fixture with Tunisia's Club Africain in their last encounter of Africa elite club competition.

The match was called off during extra-time after sections of the crowd threw water bottles and stones at an assistant referee and Africain players.

Club Africain were leading 2-1 and both teams and officials had to be protected as they left the pitch.

Caf confirmed the club could yet face further sanctions from its Disciplinary Board for the trouble, despite their severe punishment.
