Al Ahly terminate Geraldo contract as Pitso Mosimane cleans out squad

Pitso Mosimane has sanctioned another major exit at Al Ahly after the club confirmed the departure of Angola winger Geraldo.

The 29-year-old struggled to make an impact since his reported R15-million move from Primeiro de Agosto where he was the talisman at the Girabola giants leading them to three consecutive league titles.

With the Red Devils, Geraldo failed to find any sort of consistency in the demanding environment of Africa's most successful club and Mosimane's arrival did not spark an upturn in form either.

As a result, Head of Marketing and Transfers, Amir Tawfik confirmed the club has opted to terminate his contract with immediate effect.

Geraldo is amongst the foreign contingent along with Senegal striker Aliou Badji that Mosimane has deemed surplus to requirements as he looks to bolster his squad with further attacking talent.

Ahly face up against Arab Contractors on Thursday before title-chasing Pyramids ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup journey.
