Sundowns were in Egypt for their crucial CAF Champions League group B tie against Zamalek which they won 2-1.
Visiting other African countries for CAF tournaments has been problematic for South African sides with conditions usually made deliberately unfavourable in order to unsettle them.
“You know I’ve been traveling to Arab countries for so many years because of the national team and I think Egypt is the best. They welcome us very well and after the game everything was okay,” the 30-year-old tells KickOff.com.
“Even when we were leaving everything was okay, there was no commotion or anything. I think with football being played in Africa especially now they’re doing it on TV so every team gets chances to win anywhere."
Sundowns will win their group with a game to spare if they avoid defeat against Zamalek at home next week Wednesday.
