Maboe has played a key role in attack for the Brazilians since joining them from Maritzburg United at the start of the season and will no doubt be one of the men head coach Pitso Mosimane is banking on to unlock the usually stubborn Ahly defence.
Maboe, who has gained a lot of experience on the continent with his club and the senior national team Bafana Bafana, says they need to make use of home ground advantage.
The match will be played at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday (15h00).
“This is going to be the biggest game I’ve played in my entire career, knowing Ahly is a big team and so much is expected of them. They are coming to our backyard, so we have to make use of home ground advantage because going there won’t be easy for us,” the Bafana Bafana international said.
“We just need to make sure that we win the game and that we don’t concede.
Maboe feels there’s no reason for them to fear Ahly because of the quality they have in their squad.
“I’d say it’s the quality players we have here. The club has done well bringing in talented players. We have a good bunch of players and we strong believe in ourselves. If we play our game, I don’t think there’s anybody who can stop us.
