Mamelodi Sundowns will face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals

accreditation

The 2016 champions finished second in Group A after their 1-0 defeat to Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca on Saturday, making life a bit more difficult for themselves going into the last eight. They will play the second leg away from home, but that would not have been the case had they finished top of the standings.

Mosimane’s men, however, have shown great fighting spirit in the competition and will believe that they can progress to the next stage.

Players such as Themba Zwane, Gaston Sirino and Lebohang Maboe, who have been in good form on the continent, will have a big role to play as the club looks to edge closer to the final.

Al Ahly finished top of Group D, with three victories, a draw and two defeats. The Egyptian giants scored 11 goals in six matches and conceded three times.

The first leg matches will be played on the first weekend of April.
