Who are AC Leopards?

accreditation

The Brazilians’ coach, Pitso Mosimane, has made no secret of their desire to lift the trophy, which so far only Orlando Pirates have managed from a South Africa perspective.

But just who are AC Leopards?

Well, they are a club from the Republic of Congo that are based in Dolisie.

They were formed in 1953, their full name is Athletic Cluc Leopards de Dolisie, their nickname is The Beasts from Niari, and they play their home matches at Stade Denis Sassou Nguesso.

They have won the Congo Premier League for the last four years and were runners-up in the three years before that.

Their crowing moment came in 2012, when they lifted the CAF Confederation Cup after beating Djoliba from Mali in the decider.

Their current form has also been very impressive – they are unbeaten in 12 matches and have won eight of their last nine games, scoring 25 goals and conceding just five.
