accreditation

After the draw, scheduled for Yaounde in Cameroon, the Caf executive committee will meet the next day before which they will visit the construction site of the CafRegional Academy in Yaounde.

With all three of South Africa’s representative in African club competitions through to the Last 16, the last round before the draw is conducted there is growing interest as who will make it into that top eight draw.

Following their expected passage from the first two rounds Mamelodi Sundowns have a tough meeting with Sudanese champions Al Hilal in the Champions League.

Platinum Stars, the other representatives in the Champions League, face a colossal task as they have a date against Al Ahly that will put to test their character in the quest to conquer the continent.

In the CAF Confederations Cup Ajax Cape Town will have to overcome Mount Cameroon to book their place in the quarter-finals of the knockout competition.

The next round of matches will be played over the weekend of April 25-27, with the second leg penciled in for May 9-11 – a week before the draw in Yaounde that guarantees all remaining teams good remuneration.

It is the first time that South Africa has fielded three clubs in African competitions and also the first time that all of them have progressed to the Last 16.
