Cape Town City's Peter Leeuwenburgh pleased to grind out win over Kaizer Chiefs

Leeuwenburgh deservedly claimed the man-of-the-match award after pulling off a series of world-class saves, especially in the first half.

The Citizens' shot-stopper admitted his side were lucky but praised their character and ability to grind out a victory.

"We didn't play well but we showed character, especially in the second half," Leeuwenburgh told SuperSport TV.

"We were a little bit lucky with the goal. But sometimes you need a bit of luck. Even with ten men, we didn't gave away too many chances. As a team we really showed character today.

"I think a big difference between the beginning of the season is we wouldn't play well but still dropped points. But now we are learning you have to win ugly sometimes and it shows we are growing as a team."
