Mamelodi Sundowns defeated AmaZulu 3-0 to secure their place in the Carling Black Label Cup final on Saturday morning.

Sundowns withdrew Khuliso Mudau for Aubrey Modiba from the initial starting line-up, with Cassius Mailula, Bongani Zungu and Gift Motupa also in, while Veluyeke Zulu and Ethan Brooks featured for Usuthu.

Masandawana needed just five minutes to hit the ground running as a wicked shot from Mailula in the six-yard area deflected beyond goalkeeper Veli Mothwa.

Usuthu looked to hit back immediately with the Brazilians dictating the earlier exchanges, but were unable to get behind the defence and failed to unsettle Ronwen Williams.

Mothwa was under intense amount pressure on the half-hour mark and had to dive to pull off a one-hand stop from a rasping strike by Mailula with the defence caught square.

Usuthu looked for a way back after the break and issued a trio of changes in Rally Bwalya, Dumisani Zuma as well as Mbongeni Gumede.

The Brazilians, though, very nearly made it two from a snap-shot on a tight angle in the area by Motupa, but Mothwa parried, as Surprise Ralani and Haashim Domingo entered the park.

At the other end, Usuthu launched a scare too in a first-time dink far wide by Gabadinho Mhango which worked a tremendous palm from Williams with Lehlohonolo Majoro smothered on the rebound.

Sundowns added a second goal midway in the second half after a weighted ball in behind from Ralani set Gaston Sirino out right and the Uruguayan cutback for Domingo to tap in.

Masandawana extended the lead around the final ten minutes when a ball from the right of the area skipped everybody before Ralani gathered and curled into the top corner.

The DStv Premiership champions successfully managed the remaining minutes and secured a comfortable victory to head into the final.
