Chiefs want to shake 'draw kings' tag

Kick off is at 19h30.

Muhsin Ertugral’s team are unbeaten in the league in seven matches but in that period they have won just once (a 4-2 defeat of Golden Arrows on December 12) and picked up nine points out of a possible 21.

However, the Absa Premiership’s current ‘draw kings’ have a prime chance to pick up just their fourth league win when Thanda come calling.

Chiefs defeated their opponents 2-0 on the opening day of the season and with home advantage on their side this time around, they will be confident of getting the second half of the season off to a positive start.

Reports out of the Chiefs’ camp suggest that an intensive training camp undertaken in Stellenbosch in January has seen Ertugral hone his side’s fitness and team spirit ahead of the league’s resumption.

But that will not intimidate Thanda, who have several former Chiefs players on their books, including the mercurial talent that is Emmanuel Ngobese, the club’s most high profile transfer window acquisition.

Whether ‘Scara’ will get the chance to play against his former team tonight remains to be seen, but Thanda will be keen to keep up their form from the back end of 2007 that saw them pick up two morale-boosting wins in their last three matches.
