Chivuta aims to impress his national coach

Chivuta is also drawing huge inspiration from the goal he scored on debut in the Cosafa Castle Cup semi-final against Mozambique.

The Chipolopolo are up against Bafana Bafana in the last-ever final of the regional showpiece on Wednesday night in Bloemfontein.

Chivuta has been in fantastic form this season and believes the confidence in the Zambian camp will be key in completing the double following their 3-1 win over South Africa in September.

“Personally I would love to get a winners’ medal in this competition since this is the first time that I will be playing. It is also the last edition of the competition and so I want to remember it as the final in which I played a role in helping my team to win.

“But more important, is the fact that I want to go to the Afcon finals in Ghana and the best way to get the recognition is to convince the coach in these games,” Chivuta tells Kick Off.

The left-footed midfielder is confident of Zambia defending the trophy that they won last year.

“We are definitely going to win this Cup, there is no doubt about it,” he declares.

The Zambians arrived in Bloemfontein earlier on Monday with 13 local and five South African-based players.
