CAS have confirmed that Blatter has lodged appeal against his six-year ban from all football related activity, with the hearing set for August 25.

The 80-year-old Swiss former football administrator was handed his suspension alongside former UEFA president Michel Platini in December last year, when the adjudicatory chamber of FIFA's Ethics Committee ruled that a payment of two million Swiss francs, between the pair, constituted multiple infringements of the football governing body's Code of Ethics.

A statement released by CAS in March, regarding Blatter's appeal application, read: "Joseph S. Blatter has filed an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the decision issued by the FIFA Appeal Committee on 16 February 2016 [the date of Blatter's initial appeal hearing].

"In his appeal to the CAS, Mr Blatter seeks the annulment of the decision taken by the FIFA Appeal Committee in which he was suspended from all football-related activities at national and international level for six years."
