Dan Malesela targeting Absa Premiership return with TS Galaxay

Malesela replaced Vusi Mkhatshwa at Mpumalanga-based Galaxy last week having been fired by Chippa for the second time in August.

'Dance Dance''s first assignment with The Rockets is against Ubuntu Cape Town Town at home on Sunday. Galaxy are 13th on the table with two points from three games, while bottom-placed Ubuntu are yet to open their account.

"Well, the unfortunate or one thing that is big in the NFD is there is not much to play for except promotion," Malesela said.

"If you are in the NFD you can't say you want to make it to the top four or top eight, it doesn't help. You have to make it to the top three.

"I am hoping with reason as well ... I don't want to be too unrealistic. With reason if we don't get straight promotion then we make it to the play-offs. That's the thing we can play for.

"Nedbank [Cup] is an added type of glory. It's not like you win Nedbank and you get promoted. That thing will disappear, you will just be making the history books that there was a NFD club that won the Nedbank Cup. That's an added bonus.

"We wanna try and see if we can win promotion."

Mkhatshwa has returned to Witbank Spurs to serve as a second assistant to Zimbabwean head coach Rahman Gumbo.
