Fixture switch 'to support Amaglug-glug'

Sundowns and Pirates were initially scheduled to play tomorrow (Wednesday), but the match has now been shifted to Sunday, November 4 at the same venue Loftus Stadium. Kick off is at 15h45.

Initially, Andrew Dipela, the PSL general manager had said, “With Sundowns out of Africa competition, we saw it appropriate that we shift the match from mid-week to a weekend date. This was done after two weekends suddenly became available after Sundowns’ elimination from the competition, giving a flexible rescheduling that will suit both clubs.”

“With the Under-23 team facing such a crucial game this weekend against Ghana, the postponement also works to their favour. Amaglug-glug will now easily have all players they want from both clubs available for the full duration of their preparations,” he now adds.

Meanwhile, another fixture storm could be brewing with the final of the Cosafa Castle Cup and Telkom Cup fixtures to be played at the end of October.

The Cosafa final has been pencilled for a mid-week date, Wednesday, October 24, in Bloemfontein, just a day before the series of Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final matches get underway.

All the eight clubs still involved in the competition could again refuse to release players for the non-Fifa calendar date final against Zambia.
