Form will mean nothing in Derby - Bartlett

Bartlett believes that although they have been picking up favourable results in recent matches in comparison to Pirates, that will evaporate into thin air when the fierce battle begins at Mmabatho Stadium.

“We have been regaining form of late, but that will all count for nothing on Saturday. In a Derby, what matters is what you do on the day and not how you have played in recent matches because the Derby is different. The atmosphere tells it all when you come out of the tunnel.

“But we will go there to enjoy the game and make sure that we please our fans by winning,” said Bartlett after a morning training session at Naturena yesterday.

Meanwhile, Pirates have received a major boost ahead of the weekend match with the return from injury of defender Lehlohonolo Seema – who will immediately return to captaining the Bucs’ ship.

Seema, who has been out of action since February with a head injury, will be a welcome boost to a Pirates’ defence that has leaked without an experienced leader at the back.

“The mood in the camp is fantastic and we are looking forward to the game. There is no reason to say much more because we all know that it is not only points at stake, but our pride,” says Seema.

Bucs’ team manager Shakes Mashaba tells KickOff.com that only Lucky Lekgwathi and Kelebogile Mabe are still on the casualty list.
