Speaking exclusively to KickOff.com, Gamondi praised the attitude and bravery of his side in his first game in charge since taking over the reins with Stars.

"I only had five days with the players, but I’m very impressed with what they offered me against Sundowns," he says.

"They showed a great attitude and fought hard for this victory, which will help us build confidence going forward."

_quoteGamondi confirmed he had no plans as yet to bring in new faces during the January transfer window, except perhaps a striker.

"I’m not going to change much in the team, except to try and instill more confidence in the players and allow them to play good attacking football.

"I want to have a close look at what I have, but I don’t think we will consider looking for more players, except maybe for one striker as we are facing big problems upfront due to injuries."

Stars face Santos at home on Sunday in their final Premiership match before the break in action for the African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
