Gaxa has also attracted interest from PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who were especially interested during the time when Gaxa was negotiating a contract extension with Matsatsantsa.
Gaxa’s business manager Glyn Binkin says while there has been interest from both Chiefs and Sundowns, “Gaxa is happy at Supersport.”
“He likes it at Supersport, but his focus is on getting back into the Bafana set up. I find hard to believe that he can’t get into the Nations Cup squad when Vuyo Mere got injured. He’s been there before and is one of the best defenders in the country,” Binkin says.
Binkin went on to say that the Bafana factor is the only concern.
“If moving to Chiefs or Sundowns means getting the exposure to get back into the national team then we may have to look at that. It is not ideal, but this is how things work sometimes.
“But again Siboniso is happy at Supersport and for any move to happen it would have to please both parties.”
