Ghana stumble in warm-up match

The encounter saw Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari sent off during the first half of a highly competitive encounter.

Ghana’s coach Claude Leroy made use of entirely different players in each half as he wanted to have a general assessment of his final squad prior to the tournament.

The first half was played with what is probably the coach’s first team players, and the second half with what looked like his reserve team, who conceded a goal in the 83rd minute.

The Ghanaians will open the tournament next Sunday at the Ohene Djan stadium with a game against the Syli Stars of Guinea.

Ghana’s first half squad included Richard Kingson, John Pantsil, Hans Adu Sarpei, Ahmed Barruso, John Mensah, Laryea Kingston, Michael Essien, Haminu Draman, Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan and Junior Agogo.

The second half squad was Sammy Adjei, Nana Kwasi Asare, Harrison Afful, Alhassan Illiasu, Eric Addo, Anthony Annan, Bernard Kumordzi, Andre Ayew, Baffuor Gyan, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Kwadwo Asamoah.
