Gorowa still undecided on Siphika

Siphika has been training with the Beautiful Birds since last week after his failed move to Cape Town to join Santos.

_quoteGorowa says he has been unable to properly assess the player because of Swallows’ tight schedule in the Absa Premiership campaign but that he will get around to it soon.

“It is difficult to give a verdict on the player as I haven't had chance to look at him closely, but we will give him some time and if he impresses, we may consider signing him.

“I will also have to check with the medical team to find out about players on the injury list. If there are some that will take a long time to recover, then we will definitely have to look at the option of getting new players.”

Gorowa also expressed surprise as to why Zambian national team coach Patrick Phiri has chosen to ignore Birds’ prolific striker James Chamanga and not given him a call-up to the Chipolopolo Boys provisional squad that was announced recently.

“The boy is working hard and scoring goals for us and I am surprised by his omission. He should be playing in the Afcon in January.”
