Pirates’ communication manager Mickey Modisane has confirmed that Gumbi’s ankle is swollen and there is possibility of him being out of action for the remainder of the season.

However, good news for the Ghost is that captain Lehlohonolo Seema has begun full time training again having recovered from a long term head injury.

Midfielder Lebohang Mokoena is also back at training after recovering from slight injury at training last week.

“Seema is back but still has to work on his fitness. Mokoena is also back at training and this is a plus for us going to the game against Supersport United. We also have Teko Modise, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi and Lucas Thwala back after serving their suspensions,” he says.

“Preparations of the game against Supersport are going well. Today we played friendly against Mpumalanga Black Aces which we won by 2-0 through goals by Teko Modise and Ralph Matema.

“Supersport will be like wounded tigers against us following their loss to AmaZulu on Sunday, but we will be ready for a tough battle. They owe us after beating us by 3-1 in a recent friendly game.”

Modisane discloses that the tickets for the game between Pirates and Supersport, set for Johannesburg Stadium on Saturday, are already on sale at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers.
