Striker Harry Kane has reportedly failed to show up for training at Tottenham Hotspur as he seemingly looks to force a move to Manchester City.
The 28-year-old was due back in north London on Monday morning to undertake a COVID-19 test and do some blood work ahead of his return for pre-season training.
However, Sky Sports News has confirmed that the striker has not reported back for what should be his first day of training ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Kane has been linked with a move away from the Lilywhites in this transfer window, with Pep Guardiola's City reportedly making a £100 million (R2 billion) bid for the player in June.
Spurs are understood to have rejected that offer as they value their captain at more than £120 million (R2.4 billion) and are still keen on keeping him despite the striker believing he has a "gentleman's agreement" with club chairman Daniel Levy.
The club chief also told Sky Sports in June that he "sympathises" with Kane's frustrations about the lack of silverware he has had at Spurs to date, but also hinted that an exit for the player would be difficult to complete.
The Citizens, meanwhile, have been in the market for a striker since Sergio Aguero left as a free agent to join Barcelona, and Guardiola is said to have identified Kane as a suitable replacement for the Argentine.
