Having joined the Inland Stream First Division side late last season, following a spell on the sidelines, Hendricks is again back on the casualty list with a nagging Achilles tendon injury.

The set-back will keep Hendricks, who had an early career stint with Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany, out of action until the New Year.

FC AK team manager Gene Petersen discloses that the player is currently undergoing rehabilitation and is showing progress.

“He is still part of the team’s plans and we await his return in the New Year,” says Petersen.

The 28 year-old, who is also currently battling a weight problem, was signed by Supersport United from FC Rostov at the beginning of last season but was already on his way out just six months later after struggling for game time.

Groomed at the School of Excellence, Hendricks initially joined hometown Ajax Cape Town juniors before moving abroad.
