Chiefs have continued sinking deep into their longest wait for silverware with their situation now worsened by that there is uncertainty in both the technical team and playing staff.
Arthur Zwane along with Dillon Sheppard have been holding fort since the sacking of Stuart Baxter but they are not definite to remain in the same positions going into next season.
The club must decide on being either patient with Zwane and Sheppard in their wait for silverware or giving the job to a new man with demands to deliver silverware and restore the pride.
Since Baxter’s first spell at Naturena, the club has had a mix of both local and non-South African appointments in Steve Komphela, Giovanni Solinas, Ernst Middendorp, Gavin Hunt, and Baxter with no success in landing silverware.
Then there is the matter of the playing personnel.
It is tense.
From the top in attack the trio of Leonardo Castro, Samir Nurkovic and Lazarous Kambole will not be at the club next season.
Castro is considering his options with prospect of going back to Colombia, Nurkovic is moving to Royal AM while Kambole is also set for a return home to Zambia.
Bernard Parker is out of contract and sitting on the fence just like Lebogang Manyama who has had countless injury concerns.
Both Parker and Manyama are heavy earners, so their continued stay is dependent on balancing the books.
The troubled Dumisani Zuma has reportedly asked for a way out despite still having a year remaining on his contract.
Kearyn Baccus is also out of contract and has the option of going back to Australia considering that he will not get a similar package with another DStv Premiership club.
His name has been rubbed off on AmaZulu and Royal AM.
At the back decisions must be made on Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Mulomowandau Mathoho while Happy Mashiane could be considered for a loan away.
Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is also uncertain.
