Hunt not celebrating yet

With Matsatsantsa beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 on Saturday, second-placed Ajax Cape Town losing 2-1 to Moroka Swallows on Sunday and Santos being held to a 1-1 draw by Jomo Cosmos on Friday, the Tshwane side are now in pole position for the League title.

Supersport are four points ahead of Ajax (though the Urban Warriors have a game in hand) and five ahead of Santos, but Hunt remains cautious.

“There is still long way to go and you guys (the media) should continue to write us off,” he says. “The win on Saturday means nothing, we still have to continue fighting until the very last day of the season.”

The next two matches for Hunt’s side could define their title challenge as they tackle city rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at home on April 26 and then face a tricky trip to Cape Town to face Santos on April 30.

Meanwhile, Hunt has refused to clarify the position of striker Katlego Mphela, who has played just twice since Bafana Bafana returned from the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in February.
