Hunts takes a break

Hunt, who led Matsatsantsa to their first ever League trophy this season, says he is still going to decide where he will spend his holidays, but after almost 10 months of football he intends to relax by playing golf.

“It’s been a long, hard and demanding season and sometimes you need to take your mind off football a little bit,” says Hunt, who is in the running for the Coach of the Season award which will be announced during the Absa Premiership prize-giving in Midrand on Sunday.

Supersport United have also announced that they will hold their own end-of-the-season awards on Thursday at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.

Club commercial manager Jose Ferreira says the time of the function has yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, United have wasted no time in preparing for next season with the announcement that they have already signed University of Pretoria defender David Nkausu.

Ferreira said they have still to finalise a list of players to be offloaded and those to be signed.

Matsatsantsa director of football Stan Mathews has confirmed the possibility of losing defender Simphiwe Mkhonza, who has spent less than a season with the Tshwane-based outfit.

“There is interest from some other teams for the services of Mkhonza, but at this stage we have still to decide whether we will agree to release him.”

Supersport United have already signed Anthony Laffor and Noah Chivuta, from Jomo Cosmos and BidVest Wits, respectively.
