Bafana manager Sipho Nkumane confirmed to snl24.com/kickoff that they have received a letter from ‘The Students’ requesting that Josephs be excused from the national team to face Paraguay.
“We have just received a letter from Wits requesting that Josephs be withdrawn from Bafana due to injury. This has just been brought to our attention and the coach has still to decide who to call-up as a replacement.”
snl24.com/kickoff has, however, established from reliable sources that Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Calvin Marlin could be recalled back to Bafana to replace Josephs for the match that is scheduled for Tshwane’s Super Stadium on March 26.
The other goalkeeper in the Bafana squad is Kaizer Chiefs’ Itumeleng Khune.
