Interest in 'improved, explosive' Lekoelea

Platinum Stars have admitted that another PSL is interested in ‘Chippa’, fuelling the speculation a few weeks ago that the controversial set-piece specialist would follow coach Owen da Gama and be re-united with the Ghost.

Stars’ biokineticist Dave Shanley has informed Kick Off that Lekoelea is “100 percent fit” and has been cleared to play.

“Steve saw the doctor on Thursday last week and we’ve been told that everything is perfect and normal.

“His balance and explosive power have improved by 15 to 20 percent, and his condition is better than it has been for some time.

“He has been put on a four-week maintenance programme, and when that is finished he will have completed the original 12-week programme we set up for him,” Shanley explains.

Shanley was adamant that the Tycoons are hoping to sign Lekoelea in the next couple of days,” however, he also admits that there has been interest in the former Bucs’ star from at least one other club, whom he did not wish to name.
