Kamwendo happy that suspension is lifted

accreditation

Kamwendo last played for the Malawian national team during Cosafa Cup in Swaziland last year and ever since remained suspended after passing bad remarks aimed at the Flames’ technical team.

The Bucs midfielder says he has put the past behind him and is ready to serve his country with diligence.

“Whatever happened is now a thing of the past. I am happy to be back with the national team. Nothing gives me more pride than playing for the national team.

“I am looking forward to joining the national team on Friday for the friendly game against Tanzania on Saturday,” he said.

Kamwendo has also welcomed the appointment of former Free State Stars’ mentor Kinnah Phiri as Malawian National Team coach.

“Phiri is a great coach. He has proved it with Free State Stars. I have no doubt that he will succeed as Malawian national team coach.”
