The young Zimbabwean goalminder tells KickOff.com that he received a severe reprimand from Gamondi after Saturday’s victory over Thanda Royal Zulu when his showboating antics presented Thanda with a consolation goal.
“I was under no pressure and should have made a clean catch but I attempted to chest the ball before making the catch.
“Unfortunately, I had wet my jersey to keep cool in the hot conditions. The ball slipped off my chest and fell in the path of Serge Djiehoua,” explains the ‘keeper.
“The coach was understandably not happy. He told me that he is not a fan of such antics and that I must cut it out,” the 23-year-old adds.
Kapini, who initially struggled for game time last season after joining from Highlanders, has made the No.1 jersey his own of late and this has kept Wayne Sandilands on the bench.
