By putting his signature on an extension, the player who began his career at AS Vita in his homeland, will now stay put with the Durban club up to 2010.

Bajo Bujani who manages the tough central defender informs snl24.com/kickoff about Kasonga’s new deal.

“Bukasa has done so well at the club since arriving here last season that we saw it fit that he commits further. He has been happy at the club and it is good that he continues there thus we agreed to an extension,” says Bujani.

Kasonga, who played in Russia for Spartak Moscow and at Ajax Cape Town and then Silver Stars, has been a pillar of strength for Usuthu.

The 28-year-old turned out for Usuthu 34 times last season. The only three games that he missed were due to suspensions.

This season he has continued with his consistent performances leading to the club handing him the armband in the absence of Martin Carelse.
